The house itself had every amenity and incredibly comfy beds, which were greatly appreciated after staying in hostels. The location was also a key advantage, with a short walk to the beach and proximity to attractions like Cathedral Cove and Hot Water Beach.

From the pictures and description, we thought we were getting a whole house, but it turned out to be an attached apartment. The views were of the backyard and the outdoor area was shared and visible from the owner's lounge.

I always stay at this place in Hahei. It has Wi-Fi, free parking, a flat-screen TV, and a kitchen with cookware. The staff recommended the best local taxi. Perfect for me! Canoeing, hiking, beach access, and outdoor dining too. And no pets or smoking! Coming back for a city break.

My wife says that the lack of privacy was a small concern for us. The main sliding door in the lounge area didn't have any nets, and since it opened up onto the large deck, we sometimes felt like we were on display.
